Hi friend, we need to chat…
Have you checked out this post on my instagram? If you haven't, I encourage you to do so HERE
I wanted to be really real about my goals here and this is just the beginning. Speaking Emotions LLC was started because I wanted to reach more people. I wanted to have more moms be seen and heard because I remember scrolling through social media and SOO MANY people telling me how to parent and all the things I shouldn't be doing or should be doing for that matter, but not explaining the most important thing.
HOW?!?!?!
How do I fill up my coffee pot?
Like what does that look like to provide self-care for myself and how the hell do I do that on a regular basis when I am running on such little sleep?
How do I check in with myself?
Isn't self-care selfish and how do I fight this mom guilt I carry?
And please explain how my self-care helps my kids?
I felt alone.
I felt like I was failing at times.
I did not feel like I was me sometimes.
Can YOU relate to any or maybe all of this?
When I started to share my mission with others, I noticed something....I was not alone.
There were so many women who shared these feelings, but we often feel too judged, by others and even ourselves, that we don't talk about them like we maybe need to.
If any of this spoke to you, then I think this message landed where it was supposed to. If this doesn't resonate with you...maybe you know someone that has had these questions or been struggling lately.
We need to have more dialogue about HOW important self-care is and the ripple effect it truly has. We NEED more clear actionable steps that we can take to learn HOW we can fit self-care into our daily schedule filled chaos as a mom!
So, if you are up to it...try doing these 2 things today. Think about what are 3 things you do in a week for yourself towards filling up your coffee pot, and what are 3 things you would like to be doing?
I know, I know....LIZ!!!! Just finding time to do this is going to be work! I get that, but think about it while you are making breakfast or lunch, or when you are throwing in that load of laundry. Just think on it in moments throughout the day and use your phone or have a pad of paper handy and write down a few words to remember these.
I have learned that awareness of where we are and where we want to be is important when figuring out our self-care needs.
I'd love to hear what you came up with! Send your responses to letschat@speakingemotions.com!
Always remember, YOU GOT THIS!
